Characteristics
In 2016, the last section of the D8 motorway linking Prague and Dresden was put into operation. The Radejčín motorway tunnel is located in the Ústí nad Labem Region in the cadastral areas of the Prackovice, Dubice and Radejčín municipalities. The design features a separate tunnel tube for each direction. The right and left tunnel tubes are 600 m and 620 m long, respectively, the driven section of which is 446 m long in each tunnel tube. The tunnelling was performed using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM). The tunnel carriageway is made of a cement-concrete cover consisting of two layers with a total thickness of 240 mm.
Uniqueness of Construction
In the 16.5 km long Section 0805 of the D8 motorway, in addition to the Radejčín tunnel,we also built the Prackovice tunnel and the Dobkovičky and Oparno bridges. Thanks to the work of all participating construction companies, you canget from Prague to Dresden in 90 minutes.
