Characteristics
The Blanka Tunnel complex is part of the Prague City circle between the flyover junctions of Malovanka and Pelc-Tyrolka. The Blanka tunnel complex consists of the Brusnice tunnel, the Dejvice tunnel and the Bubeneč tunnel, with a total length of 5,502 meters, making the Blanka complex the longest road tunnel in the Czech Republic and the longest urban tunnel in Europe. Together with the Strahov tunnel, Mrázovka and Zlíchov tunnel, it makes up an almost nine-kilometer-long section. It is part of the northwest part of the inner city circle which, along with the tunnels, is 17 km long.
Exceptionality of the structure
The scope of the entire structure is unique, which corresponds to the length of the building preparation, the amount of induced investments, the number of relocations of utility networks, the exclusions and restrictions of transport including public transport, and the overall coordination and organization of the entire construction. As a result, transport in most parts of the capital has been affected during the implementation. After completion, the environment has been improved not only in the immediate surroundings of the structure, but also in the area of the borders of the historical centre of Prague.
