Characteristics
Architecturally unique, barrier-free pedestrian bridge across the Otava River in the Svatý Václav municipal part allows for a pedestrian connection of the Písek localities and the use of adjoining tourist routes. The river bridge consists of two parts, each of them of a different length. They both meet on a square-shaped platform, which is anchored on a stilt, embedded into the river bed. The overall geometry of the pylons, ropes and pull bars ensures the stability of the structure and contributes to the futuristic and modern character of the structure.
Building exceptionality
The solution of the Písek pedestrian bridge is based on a nontraditional incorporation of two structural systems – the part of the pedestrian bridge from the right bank is suspended on two ropes of a parabolic shape, while the bridge from the left bank is suspended on three pairs of suspensions. The bodies of both parts of the bridge is all welded, three-sided and of a truss design, made of pipes connected at the given intersection. The structure design and the craftmanship of the built structures are perfect and they contribute to an excellent impression of the entire intention of a well-known architect who comes from this area.
