Research structure for ELI laser technology
This building complex of the ELI International Research Laser Centre was the largest construction order in the field of research and development in recent years. Among other things, requirements for the contractor were a special recipe for concrete mixture, vibration stability, resistance to electromagnetic pulses and ionizing radiation, a high degree of variability allowing placement and further development of experimental, especially laser equipment.

Characteristics
This building complex of the ELI International Research Laser Centre was the largest construction order in the field of research and development in recent years. Among other things, requirements for the contractor were a special recipe for concrete mixture, vibration stability, resistance to electromagnetic pulses and ionizing radiation, a high degree of variability allowing placement and further development of experimental, especially laser equipment.
It consists of an administrative and multifunctional building and an entrance atrium, a laser hall and a laboratory, a cooling technology object and a technical gas economy. The project included outdoor works and adjustments, including external paved areas, communications and pavements, outdoor car park, traffic signs in the area, fencing, public area lighting and landscaping, outdoor area networks, connections and relocations, etc. The main laser building is located on the territory larger than the size of the football field. This building is set eight meters below ground and reaches a height of twelve meters above ground.
Exceptionality of the structure
The building meets demanding technical, safety and anti-radiation requirements. For this reason, part of the object is placed underground. It has to withstand the vibrations that the laser induces, as well as external vibrations (vehicle operation, etc.) and is fully air-conditioned and fully thermally stable. On the ElI project, we used the model for control of spatial coordination between individual BIM professions.
