Characteristics
The conversion of the historic industrial building into a universal exhibition space with the parameters of an art gallery was an attempt to preserve the original structures from the first third of the 20th century - brick, steel, wood and concrete. The compositionally defective extensions and fencing facing the river were removed to open up the entrance hall to the embankment and the courtyard. The northern extension of the silos from the early 1960s was retained as a reserve for future gallery development.

Uniqueness of construction
The implementation team had to overcome an unusually large number of problems caused by the unexpectedly worse condition of the original structures. The project was therefore accompanied by several changes. While the exterior appearance of the building has hardly changed visually, the new use required changes to the floor layout and the addition of four all-glass internal lifts. Today, the building offers an open, interconnected exhibition space illuminated by natural daylight from the third to the fifth floor without direct sunlight in the interior.
