Furthermore, it is directly helping dozens of its Ukrainian employees and their families who are already arriving in the Czech Republic. Metrostav has prepared not only accommodation for them, but also financial help to cope with the coming days. Metrostav and its subsidiaries organized a humanitarian collection of medical supplies, clothing and food. Metrostav also invited its employees to use some of the available forms of support.
"This is not a one-off assistance," says František Kočí, Chairman of the Board of Metrostav a.s. "We are ready to engage in a longer-term commitment and to contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine after the end of the war conflict. Our assistance is and will be not only financial, but also material."
"According to the Union of Construction Entrepreneurs, we have over 20,000 Ukrainians legally employed in our industry. Ukrainians are an important pillar of our construction industry. But this is less important now, because human lives and quite possibly the future of all of us are at stake here," says Jaroslav Heran, CEO of Metrostav.
Metrostav Group will also become a partner of the Concert for Ukraine, which will take place on March 9th 2022 in Prague's Lucerna, and will feature performances by artists that have pledged to perform without remuneration. During the concert, people can donate via gift SMS, and the organizers are cooperating with the Red Cross. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Ukraine as humanitarian aid.
